Soccer Without Borders (SWB)
Boston is looking for a bilingual (Spanish/English) individual to lead
its elementary school programme starting 1 January 2015. Application

Job description
The primary focus of this position will be to collaborate with the Boston programme director in coordinating and delivering all aspects of the SWB Boston Elementary School Programme. SWB Boston works with newcomer youth (aged 7-14), using football as a vehicle for positive change, providing youth a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion and personal success. The programme works with 60 youth/year. SWB has designed an in-house league that offers youth weekly, team-based challenges in football, team building and respect.
Responsibilities
The bulk of responsibility will take place during the fall (September-November) and Spring (April-June) seasons. In addition to regular programme activities, the successful candidate will plan and implement special events for youth and community events including: season kick-off parent meetings, games, tournaments, workshops, team-building events and end of season celebrations.
This position is funded by Coach Across America (CAA), which is the first nationwide programme in the US to inspire young adults to commit to a year of service as coach-mentors in underserved communities. CAA coaches receive extensive training through Up2Us’ Center for Sports-Based Youth Development.

- monitoring and evaluation
- communication with SWB Boston director
- managing and guiding programme culture
- being a point of contact for families
- ensuring that team goals are met over the course of the season
- recruitment and retention
