Good Sports is looking for a community programme assistant

Good Sports helps to lay the foundation for healthy, active lifestyles by providing athletic equipment, footwear, and apparel to disadvantaged young people in the US. Now it has an open position for a community programme assistant to be based in Quincy, MA.

Good Sports is seeking a candidate for the position of programme assistant to work as a member of its team in supporting community initiatives.

Responsibilities 
  • Working with the executive team to manage community partnerships by ensuring goals are met, donation events are executed successfully, and compelling impact reports are submitted in a timely manner
  • Reviewing community grants and making recommendations
  • Playing a primary role in donation logistics
  • Picking, packing and shipping outgoing donations from the warehouse located in Norwood, MA, as well as inventorying incoming donations from manufacturers
  • Purchasing equipment, apparel and footwear through Good Sports’ manufacturing partners
  • Occasionally conducting site visits to community organisations
  • Managing evaluation collection and analysis

Skills and Qualifications
  • Goal-driven
  • Self-motivator; able to work independently
  • Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Very comfortable with operations/back office role
  • Strong familiarity with MS Office (particularly Excel) and comfortable with learning new database system
  • Familiarity with NetSuite a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle

Good Sports’ mission is to increase youth participation in sports, fitness, and recreational programmes by targeting one of major obstacles limiting participation-access to sports equipment. To accomplish its mission, Good Sports partners with sporting goods manufacturers to ensure that disadvantaged youth are getting the equipment they need to participate. Since its inception in 2003, Good Sports has donated over $9 million worth of equipment, impacting more than 800,000 kids across the US.

Additional information
