Sport-for-development: Exploring global and local futures

Applications are open to submit abstracts for this workshop at the European Association of Sport Management Conference in Coventry, UK, on 9-12 September.

The call for abstracts for the EASM Conference is currently open and submissions are required by Thursday 10 April.

The sport-for-development workshop that forms part of the conference is designed to enable debate between academics, policy makers and practitioners with a variety of interests in the sector. The organisers wish to encourage worldwide and inclusive involvement in the workshop and so would welcome abstracts from presenters who are unable to attend the workshop in person but could deliver their papers via Skype, video or other similar media. Please do include the name of the workshop on your abstract and also indicate if you would wish to deliver in this way.

The workshop will consist of at least two sessions within the conference, each consisting of three to four papers from presenters. There will also be a plenary session as part of the workshop chaired by recognised experts in sport-for-development research, policy and practice. The proceedings of the workshop will be disseminated widely and, depending on the papers delivered, the possibility of subsequent publication of papers in a relevant academic journal is expected.

Please see the attached documentation and web links for further information on the workshop and conference. Abstracts should be submitted through the www.easm2014.com website.
